Terms of use
Last updated 10 October 2026.
These terms are between you and the developer of Carn ("we", "us"). They cover the Carn browser extension and this website. Using either means you accept them.
What Carn is
Carn reads the Microsoft Learn lesson you have open and, using a Google Gemini API key that you provide, writes quiz questions about it. It is a study aid. It does not guarantee that you will pass any exam.
Your key and your usage
You are responsible for your Gemini API key, for any cost or limits that Google applies to it, and for following Google's terms. Carn makes requests on your behalf and cannot see or change your Google account.
Questions can be wrong
Questions are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Microsoft Learn is the source of truth. Do not rely on Carn for decisions where a mistake would matter.
Other people's content
Lesson content belongs to Microsoft. Carn keeps a copy on your device so it can write and show questions, for your own study. Carn is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or Google. Microsoft, Learn and Azure are trademarks of their owners, and Gemini is a trademark of Google.
Acceptable use
Do not use Carn to break the law, to overload Google's or Microsoft's services, or to copy lesson content at scale.
No warranty
Carn is provided free and as it is, without any promise that it will work, be available, or suit your purpose. It may change, or stop working, if Microsoft or Google change their services.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Carn. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms, and will change the date above when we do. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the law where you live.Questions: support@carn.rocks.
